DARK ROAST

8oz. whole bean coffee

Dry Processed

Robusta is a unique experience to taste, all low tones and huge body, with very little sweetness or acidity. It also contains a high caffeine content - so it will definitely give you a boost if you need it. I would recommend using this to mix with other coffee to "enhance" it - think of it as your own personal blend. That doesn't mean you can't brew a batch of this on its own, just know that it's going to be "different." Robusta is ideal for people who like super-potent coffees such as Sumatras and aggressively dark blends. A small amount of Robusta is often used in espresso blends to add body and bold flavors.

"This is a special Robusta coffee from the Keller family farm, Finca Santa Isabel, in Nuevo Viñas village, Guatemala. The town is located to South of Guatemala City, between the Pacaya and Tecuamburro volcanos. Santa Isabel sits at a modest 1200 meters above sea level, and planted in a mix of Arabica varieties, and also a small amount of Robusta. The Keller family has been experimenting with Robusta at their farm in the hopes of producing a much improved cup to what's typically available. This one is uniquely sweet (for a Robusta), and quite a solid cup, again, for Robusta."

Flavor
Bold! Notes of roasted barley grains and nuts, dark sugar accents, and a malty-sweet hint. There's also an earthy element in the aroma that is spiced and complex, like clove-flavored tobacco.
