Yeah, THAT Wush Wush! This coffee has become a bit of a legend in the specialty coffee world. It comes from the region that is highly regarded as the "birthplace of coffee" the Kaffa region of Ethiopia.
What is Wush Wush?!? Many notable heirloom coffee varieties from Ethiopia’s coffee growing regions are named after the location where they are first found. Wush Wush is no exception. Wushwush (no space) is a small area in southwest Ethiopia, not far from the renowned growing regions of Jimma and Sidamo. Wushwush is known for its fertile highlands, where rich, vibrant teas grow, with sensory properties like those of Wush Wush coffee.
Higher altitude and fertile growing conditions support the fruitier, delicate, and floral cup profiles that specialty coffee drinkers expect from these rarer, more sought-after varieties.
This coffee is one to experiment with. Pour overs are gonna be fantastic, of course, but also try it as a cold brew to bring out its natural sweetness and highlight its fruit and floral qualities. And for a real treat: brew it as espresso and add to sparkling tonic for an absolutely refreshing drink perfect for after dinner or a special occasion.
