The Alvarez Family have been running the Las Lomas, in the Cantón Zacatal region, since 1957. Their strict, quality-driven standards for growing and processing make for some really impressive coffee. Growing Bourbon and Pacas varieties is very challenging at this elevation. Las Lomas coffee grows under native shade trees, improving and conserving the soil, while also encouraging biodiversity on the farm.
